Global Surgery Student Alliance (GSSA)

The University of Michigan is excited to invite you to the Global Surgery National Conference on April 1st, 2023, with this year's theme being innovation. The conference is hosted annually by the Global Surgery Student Alliance and brings together 70+ medical school chapters and over 400-500 student leaders nationwide.

Attendees will learn from experts, hear about new research and innovations, experience the latest technology in the exhibit hall, network at the Friday Launch Party in the Big House Stadium, gain professional skills through workshops, and support charity funds at the Global Surgery Black Tie Gala. The conference aims to demystify and bridge the gap between surgery departments (such as UM’s #1 nationally ranked Department of Surgery Residency Program) and students interested in surgery, global health, economics, technology, education, and more.

The abstract deadline is February 19th, and more information is available on this page.

Register today at www.umichgssaconference.org for more information and to see our impressive list of speakers, including UM President Ono.
